What to write about

• A wrong or stale figure — name the page and the number concerned; these are handled first.
• A missing municipality or canton in the tax comparison or the electricity calculator.
• A formula that looks incorrect — show your own calculation, even done by hand: it is the fastest thing to verify, and several corrections to this site came from exactly that.
• An idea for a calculator, especially where public data exists and nobody makes it readable.
• A question about the method: every page describes its calculation, but if a point stays obscure, the page is probably badly written — say so.

What I cannot answer

I do not give individual advice on tax, mortgage or pension matters. That is neither false modesty nor boilerplate: I am not authorised to, and an approximate answer about a personal situation I do not know would be worse than no answer. For those questions the right contacts are your cantonal tax administration, your pension fund, or your bank — and for a complex case, a fiduciary or an independent adviser paid by the hour.

I also do not process offers of paid links, sponsored articles or affiliate partnerships: the site accepts none, as explained on the about page.

Response time

Helvon is a project run outside my working hours. I usually reply within a few days; data corrections come before everything else.
